Maps tell us two things: where we are and the route to where we want to go. We have endeavored to keep moving forward toward our goals during the past 9 years. There have been curves and there have been interstates but we have followed the map we drew up when we began. We've just finished a season of reevaluating our goals and strategies and are excited as we head into the next phase of building this vision.
Our hearts fill with thanksgiving when we consider just how far we have come and all of the amazing people who have encouraged us and helped us along the way. Just tonight a contractor stopped by to see about putting a window in the foundation wall so we can make a bedroom ready for a child waiting to come to the Home. As he walked around and examined what needed to be done, not only did he donate his labor, offer to get the materials at his cost but he also thought his electrician friend would be interested in helping out... Last Saturday, the varsity baseball team from Dartmouth College came to help us get ready for winter. They were amazing and burned through my list in the first hour! All the raking, weedwaking, tree limbing, gardening and stacking wood is done for this year! And, that's been our story and our song!
It reminds me of a famous African proverb:
"Look how far He has brought us; look how much He has taught us; and look how far we still have to go."
Our
Seven Goals and our Five-fold Strategy follows in the subtopics to this

wonderful opportunity we have been given.
